What’s the Point of Tribal? Part 2
Above is a perfect example of what I am talking about, Image 1. This guy has, to be honest, not a bad modern tribal piece, (by modern I mean the type that you see a lot of people with now, a solid black piece that flows nicely but is just lines assorted to look appealing) but what is the meaning and memory behind this piece; it has no resemblance to an image, or even an abstract of an image. My opinion of this type of tribal is that is a great example of how commercial influences have affected tattooing; they are a evolution of ancient tribal tattoo’s, something that anyone can have. People get these tattoo’s purely to say that they have a tattoo, not because it signifies something in their life; which to me seems pointless.
